Reviewed by Abby Do you like books filled with adventure, mystery, and a spunky main character? If so you’ll love Gilda Joyce; Psychic Investigator by Jennifer Allison. This book is about a not-so-normal 13 year old girl who speaks to ghosts and is a spy. Two years ago Gilda’s world is shaken when her father dies of cancer. He leaves her his typewriter; the magic starts there. This fantastic piece of writing takes place in San Francisco when Gilda gets an invitation to visit from some distant relative for a summer. Her uncle’s name is Lester Splinter and his daughter is Gilda’s age and is named Melanie. She finds out that Melanie has been seeing a ghost around the run down Victorian mansion the dreary teen calls home. Gilda investigates and finds out a deep family secret. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thrill. For those of you who like to imagine yourself inside the text Gilda Joyce will certainly fill your expectations. This book is the first of the series. If you find the first book interesting you’ll most certainly want to read more by this author. “Gilda Joyce; Ladies of the Lake”.
